Suite Sixteen will be Madison Square Garden’s newest members-only space
Looks like Madison Square Garden’s investment in Tao Group could pay off: The restaurant group best known for its clubstaurants will open an on-site, members-only viewing suite that costs up to $400,000 per year to join.
Suite Sixteen membership is offered in five tiers, with the most expensive — Diamond — costing that $400K. The upper tier membership includes access to all Rangers and Knicks games, concerts like Billy Joel and Shakira for two people, guaranteed front-row lounge seating overlooking the events, complimentary food and drink from Tao Group restaurants like Lavo and Beauty & Essex, complimentary access to Tao venues like Marquee, occasional large group access, and more.
Access level, the lowest membership at $7,000 per year, offers access for two people to the lounge for all MSG events, where games and shows can be seen, but not from guaranteed seats. Entry for this membership is also subject to availability, though food and drink is included.
Levels in-between Access and Diamond offer varying perks, with Amber at $40,000, Ruby at $65,000, and Sapphire at $200,000.
The lounge itself, which debuts on October 30 for the Knicks home opener, will have 28 stadium-style seats, leather banquettes for dining, a crystal bar car, and more. Food includes dishes like Tao’s Chilean seabass satay with a misoyaki glaze, Lavo’s meatballs, and Bodega Negra’s tacos.
MSG invested in Tao Group back in February, and the implications of those investments are now becoming clear with this opening. The club-focused group owns New York City venues like Stanton Social, Vandal, and Magic Hour, as well as others around the world.
